With fifteen years in the food service industry (and thirteen of which were in a management capacity), Matt brings a lot of knowledge and skill to Squirrel Hill. Matt started off in 2000 in a hospital setting as a dietary aid, and came to Squirrel Hill in 2011. He quickly worked his way to assistant dietary manager, a position he had held for four years. Matt believes that resident satisfaction is the most important thing, and works daily to ensure that all residents’ needs and wants are met. Matt has incorporated many food events for the residents to enjoy, and he likes to bring a different theme with these events, such as Mexican buffets, Chinese buffets, Polish buffets, Holiday meals, summer time cook outs, and a monthly breakfast buffet. Also, Matt holds a monthly Birthday event with a 5 star-style menu for the residents that have a birthday in that current month. Matt prides himself in the variety of his menus and allows the residents to pick one or two meals a month that he puts on the menu, no matter what the request is. Matt also works with his cooks to ensure all food that leaves the department both meets and exceeds the expectations of the residents.
